Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance - "Don’t begin your trip without it"
For pleasure or business trips, travel insurance is the most important item to pack. Unforeseen accidents and illness can happen anytime anywhere. Sometimes more often when you’re away from home. You should plan for the unexpected. If you did need assistance, you would want the following at your fingertips:
- A toll-free number to a 24-hour multi-lingual assistance line.
- Covered hospital & physician bills paid for you (where possible).
- Coverage of some unexpected travel-related expenses.
- Someone to help you get home, or arrange a hospital bed near your home, if medically necessary.
Another reason to buy Travel Insurance:
Even though your Government Health Insurance Plan pays for some medical emergency and hospital costs outside of Canada, it may cover only a small percentage of your bill. That means, without travel insurance, you may be
personally responsible for paying medical bills that could cost thousands of dollars.
A
one-week stay at a hospital in the U.S. could cost about
USD $60,000. Your provincial health insurance would only cover between CDN $100 and CDN $400 a day.*
Depending on which plan you choose and what features are covered under that plan, you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with worry-free travel for just a small cost per day.
